How does Ford adaptive cruise control work?

I’ve read that many of the new Ford models come with Ford Co-Pilot360, which features adaptive cruise control. I’m not 100% sure how this is different from regular cruise control, so I’d like to know more. How does adaptive cruise control from Ford work?

Adaptive cruise control is the latest evolution in safety technology from
Ford
that’s also part of the Ford Co-Pilot360 suite. Using advanced radar and camera tech, Ford adaptive cruise control maintains a safe distance between your car and other motorists by automatically slowing your vehicle. It also maintains the speed you set, but by speeding up and slowing down, you never have to worry about an accident.
Ford improved the basic adaptive cruise control system with these three technologies:
  • Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, which allows the car to come to a complete stop when needed
  • Adaptive cruise with stop-and-go and lane-centering technology
  • Intelligent adaptive cruise control, which combines stop-and-go tech, lane-centering, and speed sign recognition
Even with the added safety of adaptive cruise control, you can’t beat the peace of mind and protection you get with a quality car insurance policy via the
