How do you wrap a car in Christmas lights?

We’re supposed to decorate our car for a Thanksgiving Day parade. I want to put Christmas lights on my car, but I’m not sure how to attach them or keep them lit while I drive. Is there any way to wrap my car in Christmas lights?

What a fun idea! You can steal the show with your creativity! Here are the steps you’ll need to follow to wrap your car in Christmas lights:
  • Buy a power inverter or a set of 12V Christmas lights. Most Christmas lights are 110V AC, but your car has a 12V DC socket. If you can’t find lights specifically made to plug into your car, the inverter will convert the power source so it works. You should be able to find one that plugs directly into the cigarette lighter socket in your car!
  • Once you’ve plugged in your inverter, plug in your lights to make sure that they work with the inverter you’ve purchased.
  • To secure your lights, use cable ties on the racks on the roof of your car, your grill, or the bumper. You can also use magnets or magnetic tape to secure your lights.
  • When you’ve positioned your lights, secure any loose wires with electrical tape to keep them from flying behind you once you start driving.
Stay safe! If the weather has a chance of
rain, snow, or ice
, don’t drive with the Christmas lights on your car.
