How do you wax a car by hand?

I’ve got a date coming up and this guy is really into cars. I want mine to look as nice as possible when I pick him up, but I don’t have any power tools. What’s the best way to wax my car by hand?

Waxing your car is an easy way to make it feel like new! While the process can be time-consuming when you do it without tools, it isn’t too hard. Follow these instructions to wax your car by hand:
  • Step 1: Wash your car thoroughly and dry it completely with towels. If you find any tough spots of dirt, use a clay bar to pick them up before you start waxing.
  • Step 2: Apply a nickel-sized dollop of wax to your waxing pad and firmly work it into the car in a circular motion. Each dollop should cover about two square feet of space, and you should methodically work your way over one car panel at a time.
  • Step 3: Touch up unwaxed areas on your car to make sure you get an even shine.
  • Step 4: Wipe off the wax with a microfiber cloth, working your way over one panel at a time. While the excess wax will collect on your cloth, a thin, nearly invisible layer will remain to keep your car shiny.
Congratulations, you just waxed your car by hand!
