Sentry Mode is an awesome feature that’s automatically included with your Tesla Model 3
. It’s also very easy to use. To start using Tesla Sentry Mode with a USB, you’ll first need a properly formatted USB. Here are the requirements:
Sustained write speed of at least 4 MB per second
Formatted in exFAT with a TeslaCam folder
The easiest way to start using Sentry Mode is to have your Model 3 format your USB for you. To do this:
Insert a USB into the front USB port. You can also use the port in your glove box.
Go to Controls. Once in Controls, select Safety and then Format a USB.
If your Model 3 can’t format your USB, you can do it manually with a computer. You’ll need to format and create a TeslaCam and TelsaTrackMode folder, as well.
Once your drive is formatted, simply insert it in the glove box port and enable Sentry Mode. You can do this by going to Controls, then Sentry. From there, you’re all set!
Another important part of keeping your Tesla safe is proper car insurance coverage. To find the best coverage at the lowest rate, use the Jerry
app. Once you download Jerry, answer a handful of questions that will take you roughly 45 seconds to complete and you’ll immediately get car insurance quotes for coverage similar to your current plan. Jerry customers save an average of $879 a year.
