How do you use electric car charging stations in the UK?
I recently purchased an Audi E-Tron and have a charger at home. I’m anxious about using public charging stations because I don’t really know where they are and what I’m doing! I’m in the UK by the way. Can you tell me how to use electric car charging stations in the UK?

at a public charging point for the first time can be intimidating. **You’ll be happy to hear that the UK has over 42,000 charge point connectors in over 15,500 locations. **Here’s what we know about using electric charging stations in the UK:
- Luckily, there are thousands of free car charge points to charge your EV in the UK. They’re often found outside of shopping centers, public car parks, supermarkets, service stations, and hotels. A set period of time or minimum purchase may be required.
- The type of charging connector you need depends on the type of car you have and the charge point’s power rating. Charging cables plug into electric cars or charging points. There are** five types of charging plugs** used in the UK.
- The five types of plugs include the UK three-pin plug, the** Type 1 plug, the **Type 2 plug, **the CHAdeMO plug, and the Combined Charging System (CCS) plug**. Determine which type of plug your EV requires, then simply plug the connector into your vehicle, and remove it once your EV is recharged.
- Charities, local authorities, and businesses can reduce carbon emissions by utilizing the Workplace Charging Scheme. The program uses solar, battery storage, Demand Side Response (DSR), and Vehicle to Grid (V2G).
