How do you use an electric car charger?
I’m trying to decide between getting a hybrid or electric car for my family. I like the idea of electric cars, but I think I’m mainly intimated by the whole charging process. Can you shed some light on how to use a battery charger for an electric car?

- Before you use your charger, it’s important to make sure you have the _correct type of outlet _for your charger to plug into.
- Check out your home’s electrical panel to see what it can accommodate. Level 1 outlets are used for low power such as 120-volt AC, while Level 2 outlets are compatible with 240-volt AC.
- You’ll notice that the head of the pump looks a lot like the standard utility plugs you’ve used in the past. Plug the head of the charger that looks like a plug into the outlet and plug the other end of the cord into your car.
- If you’re at an EV charging station, first turn off your car. Then unlock the charging connector, lift it, plug it into your car and relax while it charges. When the session ends, press the button on the control panel to turn off the charger, and unplug the connector from your vehicle.
