How do you use a vacuum pump on a car AC?

I bought a secondhand vacuum pump for my car’s AC, and it didn’t come with any instructions. How do you use a vacuum pump on a car AC?

Answer
To use a vacuum pump on a car AC, you’ll want to start by setting up the pump. Add oil to your vacuum pump and get the gauges and valves ready.
Start the pump once the gauges and valves have been connected. Open the side gauge valve and allow the pump to run for about 20 to 35 minutes. Once you’re done, close the low-side valve and allow the vacuum pump to sit.
After another 20 minutes, shut off the vacuum and disconnect it.
While you wait for the pump to do its thing, check out the Jerry app to see how much you can save on car insurance. Before every policy renewal period, you’ll be presented with new competitive quotes, which means you’ll always have the best coverage at the best price.
