How do you use a Honda warranty?
I just bought my first-ever new car—a 2022 Honda CR-V. So far, everything’s working great. But since this is the first time I’ve had a car warranty, I really don’t know what to do with it if something goes wrong. How do I use a Honda warranty on my car?

Your new
Honda CR-V
should be covered by Honda’s
3-year, 36,000-mile factory warranty, and 5-year, 60,000-mile powertrain warranty. To use a Honda warranty, you can simply take your vehicle to any Honda dealership with a certified Honda service center.
The powertrain warranty will cover your car’s:
- Engine
- Transmission
- Transaxle
- Drivetrain
- Restraint system
The factory warranty covers just about every other mechanical component, as long as you are within the warranty’s requirements. This includes not only the timeframe and mileage limitations but also the expectation that you have kept your car routinely serviced on a regular maintenance schedule.
If you didn’t have your car serviced by a Honda dealership, you will need to provide receipts indicating when you had regular maintenance done.
Some issues, such as those caused by a collision or weather event, will be covered by your
car insurance
