How do I unlock my Honda Civic without the key?

What’s the best way to unlock my Honda Civic without a key? I locked the keys in the car along with a bunch of my school stuff—I’m not sure what to do.

To unlock your
Honda Civic
without a key, you can try using a tennis ball or a flathead screwdriver and a wire coat hanger.
To use a tennis ball to unlock your Civic:
  • Cut or burn a small hole in the ball.
  • Place the hole over the lock on your driver’s side door.
  • Press the tennis ball into the door as hard as you can.
The air pressure from the tennis ball might be enough to cause your door to unlock.
You can also try a flathead screwdriver or small wedge and a wire hanger:
  • Use the screwdriver or wedge to carefully pry the door open.
  • Once the opening is wide enough, insert a wire coat hanger into the gap and use it to press the unlock button on the inside of your door.
If neither of these methods work, call a locksmith to help you out. You can also check your
car insurance
policy to see if it includes
roadside assistance
with lockout services.
