How do you turn on AWD in a GMC Terrain?

I just got a new 2020 GMC Terrain. I understand that the newer versions of the Terrain allow drivers to switch back and forth between four-wheel-drive and two-wheel-drive. Just by driving it for a few minutes from the dealership to my house, I can tell that the four-wheel drive isn’t on. How do I turn AWD on in a GMC Terrain?

Great question! It’s true—
GMC
has recently started allowing Terrain owners to switch at will between AWD and 2-wheel drive. Doing so is very easy, and you can do it on the fly!
To turn on AWD in your
GMC Terrain
, you’ll use the dial in the center console.
Right in between the two front seats, you’ll see a circular dial. It’s directly behind the cup holders. Use this dial to switch driving modes. You’ll see several icons–two of which are the 2-wheel-drive (indicated by an “x2” icon) and the 4-wheel-drive, or AWD (indicated by an “x4” icon). All you have to do is turn the dial to the one you want, and your GMC Terrain will switch driving modes.
