I used my parking brake for the first time today, and now I’m realizing I can’t figure out how to switch it off! How do you turn off the parking brake on a 2021 Subaru Outback?

There’s one step to turning off your
2021 Subaru Outback’s
 parking brake that’s easy to overlook—you have to hold down your regular brake pedal to switch it off. Here’s how to turn off the parking brake on a 2021 Subaru Outback:
  • Locate the electronic parking brake switch, which is above and to the left of your gear shift knob.
  • You pull up on the electronic parking brake to turn it on. When it’s on, a red light on the switch will illuminate.
  • To turn off the electronic parking brake, while pressing and holding down your brake pedal, press the parking brake switch down.
  • The red light and your
