I waited for the lights to turn off in my Ford Explorer after I shut the door, but they’re still on. How do you turn off the interior lights in a Ford Explorer?

The interior lights in a
Ford Explorer
are programmed to turn off after you’ve closed all the doors and locked the car. Check the following if your Ford Explorer interior lights won’t turn off in these circumstances:
- Make sure all the doors are completely closed.
- Press the lock button on your keyfob until you see the headlights flash with a short beep from the horn to confirm that your Explorer is properly locked.
- Test the individual interior lights in your Ford Explorer to see if any were turned on and left on by mistake.
- Make sure the push button for your Ford Explorer dome lights is off. This is typically on the ceiling above your rearview mirror or to the lower left of your steering wheel.
When in doubt: Check your
car owner’s manual
to make sure you know where all the buttons for the interior lights in your car are so you can go through and check them all. If your Ford Explorer interior lights still won’t turn off, you should take your car to a mechanic
