How do you turn off the daytime running lights on a BMW 5 Series?
Is there a way to turn off the daytime running lights on a BMW 5 Series? I can’t find a setting for them, but they’re super bright. I’d rather not have them on unless it’s totally necessary.

5 Series. Older models don’t allow you to turn off the daytime running lights without the help of a BMW dealer. With a newer model, you’ll be able to turn off the daytime running lights from your iDrive system. Here’s how:
- Press down on the iDrive knob to reach your settings menu.
- Select Vehicle/Tires from the settings menu.
- Select Lighting.
- Select Daytime Running Lamps.
- Toggle the setting to OFF.
