It’s good that you have an anti-lock braking system in your Jeep, especially if you drive in snowy or rainy conditions often. If you’re seeing your ABS light, there’s likely something wrong with the system and your anti-lock braking might be disabled. Here are some likely causes:
- Your wheel speed sensor could be faulty, meaning your ABS can’t keep a wheel from locking if it’s moving slower than the others.
- Your ABS module might not be working, meaning the module that physically controls your ABS is damaged or can’t function properly.
- Your ABS fluid level is too low to keep pressure on the ABS lines.
To find out what’s wrong with your ABS system, head to an auto parts store and ask to use their free code scanning service. The scanner will tell you what the problem is and how to fix it.
