How do you turn off a car alarm horn?

What do I need to do to turn off my car alarm horn? I triggered it by accident the other day, and it’s been going off randomly ever since! I never know what to do when it starts going off, and I usually just press a bunch of buttons until it stops.

Car alarms are great theft-deterrents and frustrating features! Luckily, there are a few different ways you can turn off your car alarm horn:
  • Start your car. Usually, your car alarm will turn off automatically when you start your car.
  • Hit the panic button. This may sound counter-intuitive, but hitting the panic button a second time will often cancel the car alarm.
  • Use your physical key. If you unlock your driver’s side door with your physical key, your alarm should turn off.
  • Use your remote. Hit the lock/unlock button on your
    key fob
    to turn off your alarm.
If all else fails, you may need to remove the alarm fuse to stop your alarm horn. Use your owner’s manual to find the fuse box in your car, then remove the wire labeled Alarm with a pair of plastic tweezers.
