How do you transfer insurance to another car?

I just bought a new car and would like to transfer my existing policy to this car, how do I do this?

Congratulations on the new car! To transfer an existing policy to a new vehicle, you can call your insurance company, update your policy online, or update using your company’s app.
Here is a list of the information you will need to have handy:
  • Effective date (the day you will pick up the car and drop off the old one)
  • VIN for the new car
  • Leasing or finance company name and address if applicable
  • List of required coverages
Make sure to input the correct effective date for the policy change to avoid a lapse in coverage.
Once the policy is updated, you can have the new policy paperwork emailed to you or directly to the dealership!
