How do you transfer car insurance to another state?

I'm moving from Delaware to Maryland. I'll be taking my car with me. How do I transfer my car insurance?

Moving states can be stressful, but transferring your car insurance doesn’t have to be!
Before you move, contact your current
car insurance company
: 
  • Not every insurance company operates in every state, so make sure they provide coverage in the state you’re moving to.
  • Rates vary depending on where you live and the
    car insurance requirements
     in your new state. To see what your cost will be, provide your insurance with your new address.
By contacting your insurance in advance, you can determine whether your new rate works for you.
