How do you test an electric car battery?

I recently purchased an EV and I’m doing everything I can to make sure that it stays in good condition. Thankfully, that means I can skip oil changes and other things like that, but I don’t know how to test an electric car battery to ensure that it’s working properly. Can anyone help me out?

Testing an
EV battery
is usually done by carmakers before the vehicle ever leaves the facility it was built in. That means testing it on your own isn’t going to be easy unless you just happen to have the same industrial electronic equipment as your car’s manufacturer. That’s why many people simply use Recurrent, a software technology, in order to keep track of their battery health.
Recurrent is affordable, easy to use, and a great way to track your battery’s health and make sure you’re getting the most out of your EV’s battery range, too.
Recurrent links your phone to your car’s
onboard computer
, and by anonymizing your data, it collects information about your vehicle’s charging speed, average battery range, and charging capacity. Recurrent then categorizes your vehicle with thousands of others just like it, pooling the data together to give you an accurate measurement of how your individual car is doing compared to models of the same make and year.
But if it seems as though your battery life is waning, it’s worth taking your EV into a dealership or qualified technician’s shop in order to have it serviced. If the battery is still under warranty, it’s worth seeing if you can get it replaced free of cost. And considering how expensive EVs can be to repair, it’s worth looking into other ways of saving on your vehicle expenses, starting with your car insurance.
