To test your car’s subwoofer, you will need to purchase a multimeter from an auto shop or online.
To test your subwoofer using the multimeter, do the following:
  • Start by disconnecting the subwoofer from any power sources and removing any connected inputs or cables.
  • Take your subwoofer out and attach the positive multimeter probe to the positive terminal on your subwoofer and the same on the negative side.
  • Turn on your multimeter and if you see a reading above 1.0 ohm, your subwoofer is in working condition. If you see anything else or nothing at all, your subwoofer is likely damaged.
