How do you talk to car insurance after an accident?

Unfortunately this week I was in a car accident, how do I get the most out of my call with their insurance company?

Oh no, I hope you and everyone involved are okay! Before the phone call, it’s a good idea to write down the details of the accident and contact your own insurance agent. When it comes time to talk to the other insurance adjuster, be sure to answer their questions openly and honestly.
Some of the questions they will ask you are:
  • What date and time did the accident happen?
  • What were the weather conditions?
  • Were there any witnesses?
  • Was anything obstructing your view?
  • Was anyone hurt?
  • Was a policy report filed?
  • What kind of car do you drive?
  • Was there any damage to your car?
Be sure to speak with your own claims adjuster after this call.
