How do you take care of an electric bike battery?

I need a better way to get around my city than public transport. It’s too crowded, and I need more freedom. I just don’t know if buying a car is right for me. I need an eco friendly option, so I’m looking at buying an electric bike, but I heard the upkeep is annoying. How do you take care of an electric bike battery?

Great question! Electric bikes are a great, eco-friendly way of getting around, and the batteries are easy to take care of. Taking care of it by being aware of the charge in the battery, where you’re storing it, and keeping it dry will help you get the most out of your battery.
Just like us, your electric bike battery doesn’t like extreme temperatures. That means keeping it somewhere between 45 and 85 degrees Fahrenheit whenever possible. Obviously you have no control over the weather, but be aware of how hot your storage space for your ebike is.
Some people in urban areas are choosing electric bikes over other
eco friendly cars
, cause they’re cheaper and easier to navigate through urban centres. For people who use their bikes for their commutes, the best way to take care of their batteries is to strategically charge.
Charging your battery all the way to 100% stresses the battery, so it’s best not to do that constantly. If you can, charge your battery to 85% before unplugging.
If you have a big journey coming up, don’t be afraid to charge the battery to 100%. Doing it consistently can be a problem, but once in a while should be fine.
Obviously a freak rainstorm can’t be prepared for, and if your battery gets a sprinkling as you pedal for safety, it’ll be okay. Try to make sure you’re not letting it sit in puddles, and that you wipe it dry after it gets wet.
If you choose an
electric car
over an electric bike, you’ll need affordable insurance.
