How do you take a name off of a car title?

I'm selling my old Toyota soon, and I'm not sure how to change the name on its pink slip. How can I take the name off of a car title so I can list the buyer as the owner?

Great question! I’m happy to say that
taking a name off of a car title
is a pretty easy process, and starts with getting the new owner’s information.
Once you have what you need, fill out the back of the title with the new owner’s information.
If there are two names listed on the title separated by and/or, then you can remove either name without permission from that person. If the two names are separated by and, however, you’ll need their signature to make changes.
Some states may also require a transfer agreement, which has to be signed by a notary. It’s best to check your state’s requirements so that you know exactly what you need!
Keep in mind that when you buy a new car, you’ll need to make sure it has the coverage it needs. To do this easily, check out the

Best of luck with the sale!
