How do you take a car door off?
What’s the easiest way to remove a car door? My car was in an accident and my uncle wants to buy me new car doors from a junkyard. I'm a little nervous to replace them by myself.

It’s actually pretty easy to take off a car door, so try not to worry! Like any door, the best way to get it off is to start at the hinges.
There are three common types of door hinges:
- Welded hinges will be permanently connected to the door and car. But they’ll be held together by a pin that you can easily remove.
- One-sided hinges will be permanently connected to either the car or the door. The other side will be bolted down, so you’ll just remove the bolts to take off the door.
- Two-side hinges are bolted to both the door and the car. Taking off the door is as easy as picking a side and unscrewing the bolts.
Remember, many cars come with a strap that stops the door from opening too far. You’ll need to disconnect it and any wiring your find before pulling off the doors.
