How do you sue someone with no car insurance?

I was in an accident with an uninsured driver. I was injured and my car is damaged. How can I sue the other driver for damages?

Getting into an accident is already overwhelming without having the additional stress of an uninsured driver. However, suing is an option that you can pursue to help pay for damages.
Before you pursue legal action, check with your
car insurance
company. Many policies contain
uninsured motorist coverage
. Uninsured motorist coverage will cover any injuries or damages that an uninsured driver may cause.
If you have
collision coverage
or
medical payments coverage
, you could also submit a claim for your injuries and car damages.
If you don’t have these coverages on your policy, consult an attorney. Some attorneys may offer free consultations about your case. If you are comfortable with the lawyer’s fees and policies, feel free to move forward with legal action.
If your car insurance rates change after the accident or you decide to add additional coverage, consider shopping around. Doing so may find you a better rate than what you’re currently paying.
And that’s when an app like
