How do you stop a car alarm?

How do you turn off a car alarm that won’t stop going off? Someone hit my car and my alarm has been going off for three straight minutes. I have no idea what to do!

You can usually stop your car alarm by hitting the panic button on your keys. It’s typically orange or red and may have a symbol of a horn on it.
If that doesn’t work, then you might have to try some of these old-school strategies:
  • Start your car
  • Click the remote lock/unlock buttons
  • Use your manual key to open the driver’s door
  • Try clicking the other buttons on your remote key
  • Check the car manual for further options
If none of those work, then you could carefully remove the negative terminal cable from your battery. The correct cable should be black and marked with a minus symbol. Leave it unplugged for a minute, and it should reset when you plug it back in.
On the off chance the alarm is still going off, it’s probably time to have your car checked out by a professional. Since the issue resulted from an accident,
your insurance
should even help you cover the cost!
If it doesn’t, then it may be time to look for new coverage or a new provider with
