How do you soften car suspension?

I’ve noticed in the last couple of months that my car just isn’t driving as smoothly as I’d like. How do I soften the suspension to help?

Having a smooth drive is everyone’s goal! Thankfully with these tips, you can adjust the suspension to enjoy your ride a bit more:
  • Start by installing softer shocks and struts
  • If you have adjustable shocks, adjust them to a softer setting
  • Install softer springs
  • Replace the bushings in the suspension
  • Replace the sway bars with smaller bars
If all of this sounds like a lot of technical jargon, you probably need to take your car to a professional to have them work on your suspension. On average, work on your suspension can cost anywhere from $1,000 to $5,000. While it’s pricey, it’s still cheaper than buying a new car.
If you put off repairing your suspension and something happens to your car, make sure you have roadside assistance so you’re not stranded.
