How do you sign over a car title in MA?

What steps do I need to take to sign over a car title in Massachusetts? I’m selling my old car to my nephew, so I need to put the title in his name.

Title transfers sound a lot trickier than they are, so try not to worry! You only need a few things to sign over a car title in
Massachusetts
:
  • Your car’s original title
  • A completed Registration and Title Application form
  • Your driver’s license
  • A check for payment and taxes
As the seller, you’ll need to release ownership of the car by signing the title. From there, your nephew will need to complete the Registration and Title Application form and turn it in at the RMV—along with a check for any fees.
If your nephew’s new to the world of cars, you may want to help him with the paperwork and forms. While they aren’t complex, they contain a lot of jargon that can be difficult to understand.
Additionally, since your nephew’s getting a new car, make sure he’s getting the
coverage he needs
