Car insurance
is an awesome career! Many different opportunities are available in the field, so you shouldn’t have trouble finding something that works for you.Due to the pandemic and the advent of high-speed internet, working remotely has become even more popular. Even traditional industries like insurance have adapted to the changing times, meaning you can sell insurance over the phone from the comfort of your own home.
To sell car insurance over the phone, you need an insurance license. In most states, this is a property and casualty license. Every state has different licensing requirements, but most involve:
- Taking a prelicensing course
- Taking an exam
- Filing an application, fingerprints, and paying a licensing fee with your state’s Department of Insurance
Once approved, you can sell car insurance.
While most entry-level jobs in insurance are as a customer service agent, many companies will now pay for you to become licensed. After passing your licensing exam, you can move into sales or another department.
