Thankfully, you have a few options to save money and alleviate stress when purchasing car insurance for a young driver.First, find out what discounts are available to you with your current policy. Depending on your company, your son might qualify for a good student discount. If your son is taking a driver training course, they may also qualify for a discount.

, offer educational programs for young drivers. If a driver completes the course, State Farm will give them a discount on a policy.You could also see if your insurance provider has a driving behavior discount or telematics program. Enrolling in a program can save some additional cash as well.
