How do you reset the oil life on a Honda Accord from 2007?
Is there a way to reset the oil life on my 2007 Accord myself? I got my oil changed a few days ago and it’s already showing me the oil indicator, so I think the people at the shop forgot to reset it.
First, turn the ignition to RUN, which is one click before starting the engine.
Cycle through the settings by pressing the SELECT/RESET knob located in the instrument cluster until you see the engine oil life indicator on the display.
Press and hold the SELECT/RESET knob until the engine oil life indicator and the maintenance code start to blink (about 10 seconds).
Release the SELECT/RESET knob once the display starts to blink.
Press and hold the knob again for 5 more seconds, or until the maintenance code disappears and the engine oil life returns to 100%.
If your oil indicator shows you a warning again, it might be a good idea to
to make sure that everything in your engine is functioning properly. It’s possible that there’s another problem with your engine that’s causing your vehicle to lose oil—which needs to be addressed ASAP.
