How do you reset the oil life on a Honda Accord?

How do I reset the oil life indicator in my Accord? I don’t have the multi-information display, and I can’t find instructions that work for my car.

Don’t worry—I’ve got your back! Here’s what you’ll need to do to reset the oil life in a
Honda Accord
without a multi-information display:
  • Turn your ignition to RUN, also called accessory mode.
  • Press the SELECT/RESET knob until you see the engine oil life on your display.
  • Press and hold the SELECT/RESET knob for10 seconds, or until the engine oil life indicator and the maintenance code(s) start to blink.
  • Press the SELECT/RESET knob for 5 more seconds, or until the maintenance item code(s) disappear and the engine oil life indicator resets to 100%.
If your oil indicator does not reset, it’s best to
visit a mechanic
to figure out what’s going on. Leaking oil can be extremely dangerous and ruin your engine, so be careful!
