Resetting the idle air control valve in a

is fairly easy. Here are the steps you’ll need to follow to reset the idle air control (IAC) valve in your Honda:
  • First, push the accelerator pedal in slightly.
  • Once you’ve done that, start your engine and let it run for five seconds.
  • Turn the ignition off for ten more seconds.
  • Once 10 seconds have passed, restart the engine.
Once you do this, your car should be idling properly. If something still seems off, speak with a mechanic, as this could indicate a larger problem with your engine or ventilation systems.
