How do you reset the brake light on a BMW 1 Series?

Is there a way to reset the brake light on a BMW 1 Series? I got mine checked last week and new brake pads installed. Even so, the light is still on in my car.

Absolutely! Since you’ve already gotten your brakes checked, you should feel confident resetting the brake light. Most maintenance lights are manual, meaning you have to reset them once the work is complete. To reset the brake light in your
BMW 1 Series
, you’ll need to follow these steps:
  1. Turn the ignition to ON and press the odometer reset button located on your dash.
  2. Hold down the button. Your display will show a yellow triangle with an exclamation point inside. Then, it will enter the service menu.
  3. Use your turn signal stalk to find the brake light setting.
  4. Press and hold the BC button on your turn signal stalk to reset the light.
