How do you reset oil life on a 2008 Honda Accord?
I want to reset the oil life warning light in my car. After a recent oil change, it still only reads 65%. I’m pretty sure it should say 100%. How can I fix the oil change light on my 2008 Accord?

Changing your oil is an important part of
basic car maintenance
, so kudos on getting that done in a timely fashion. But you’re right—your oil life indicator should read 100% now.- Turn the key to the accessories position, but make sure not to start the vehicle.
- On the instrument cluster, where you see the oil life display, look for the odometer trip button on the right-hand side.
- Press this button until you see oil life at the bottom of the display.
- Press and hold the button for 10 seconds or until the oil life starts to blink.
- Release the button, then immediately press and hold it again for about 5 seconds.
- You should see the oil life return to 100%.
