How do you reset a Honda's oil life?

Is there a way to reset my Honda’s oil life indicator? I drive a 2008 Honda Fit. I think they forgot to reset it the last time I got an oil change. I want to keep it accurate, so I always know when to take my car in.

It’s great that you’re on top of your car’s
maintenance schedule
and your engine oil since it’s an important part of your car’s functionality. Here are the steps you’ll need to follow to reset the oil life in your
Honda Fit
:
  1. Turn your ignition to RUN, which is one position before START.
  2. Press the Select/Reset knob on your dashboard near your speedometer until you see Engine Oil Life displayed.
  3. Press and hold the Select/Reset knob for 10 seconds or until the oil indicator light starts to blink.
  4. Release the knob, then immediately press and hold it again, this time for five seconds. Your oil life should return to 100%.
  5. Finally, turn your ignition off, then turn on your car to ensure the reset was successful.
It only takes a few minutes to reset your oil life, but it takes even less time to refresh your car insurance policy when you use the
