How do you report a hit-and-run in a parking lot?
What do I do if my car was hit in a parking lot? I was shopping at Target and when I went back to my car, there was a huge dent in the passenger side door. It was not there this morning, so I know it happened in the parking lot.

“If your car is damaged in a parking lot, the first thing you want to do is take pictures of the damage and the surrounding area.
Then contact Target’s security team. They can check the security footage and get more information for the police report.
If the police are not able to locate the person or driver who damaged your car, you can still submit a claim.
If you have collision coverage on your auto policy, you can likely have your car repaired.”

Do I need to tell my insurance about every accident I'm in?
Do I need to inform my insurance of a scratch? I was scratched by another person's car. I gave them my information and they let me know the repair would be $300. I can afford to pay it out of pocket, so I was just going to do that.
