How do you replace the key fob battery for a Toyota?
Over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed the range on my key fob getting smaller and smaller. Does this mean it’s time for a new battery? If so, how can I replace the key fob battery for my Toyota?

Yes, typically when you experience a decrease in the range of your key fob, it is due to a dying battery. Luckily, to change your Toyota key fob battery, you just need to follow these easy steps:
- Check your owner’s manual to find out what type of battery you need to purchase.
- Purchase your new battery from a department store or local auto shop.
- Take the manual key out of the key fob by pressing the metal button at the top.
- Use a flathead screwdriver to pry the key fob open.
- Carefully remove the circuit board.
- Remove the old battery and put the new one in its place.
- Snap the key fob back together and return the key to its housing.
