How do you rent a car through insurance?

I was in an accident a couple of weeks ago, and my car is in pretty bad shape. I’m doing fine and I’m ready to get back out there, but I need a rental car while my car is in the shop. Is there any way I can rent a car through my insurance provider?

I’m so sorry to hear that you were in an accident, but I’m glad to know that you’re doing okay. Assuming you have already
filed a claim
with your insurance company, there are three main ways to rent a car through insurance after an accident:
  • If the other driver is at fault, their company may claim liability and provide a rental car for you during this time.
  • You can rent a car through your company and then seek reimbursement.
  • If you are found to be at fault and you have
    rental reimbursement
coverage on your policy, you will be reimbursed for any car rental fees you’ve accumulated.
Aside from causing lots of stress mentally, accidents can also put a lot of pressure on your pockets. If you find that your insurance rate has increased since the accident, consider shopping for a new policy with the
Jerry
app. Jerry works to make the whole car insurance process simple and affordable by getting you customized quotes from top insurers in seconds. That way, all you need to do is pick the plan that works best for you. And once you’ve picked one, we’ll even help you switch!
Best of luck, and hope the claims process goes smoothly!
