How does online driver’s license renewal work in MD? I want to renew my license without visiting the DMV if possible, but I’m not sure how that process usually works.

You can renew your driver’s license online in MD if you received notice of their eligibility on your license renewal notice. If you’re eligible, you can renew your license by visiting the Maryland MVW website:
  • Log in to or sign up for your myMVA account to access your online portal
  • Follow the prompts on your screen to input the necessary information to renew your license
  • Pay the associated fee
Once your renewal application is approved, you’ll receive your new ID card in the mail at your registered address.
