How do you renew your driver’s license in Ohio?

I just noticed that my Ohio driver’s license has been expired for over a month. How can I renew it before I get a ticket?

Don’t stress—you still have time to renew your
Ohio
driver’s license! You can renew your Ohio driver’s license at any time before the expiration date—unless you’re about to turn 21 (then you have to wait until 30 days or less before your birthday). Once the expiration date has passed, you have 6 months to renew your license.
To renew, head to the Ohio BMV and bring proof of:
Full legal name Date of birth Social Security number (if assigned) Ohio residency Citizenship or legal presence If your name or address has changed, you’ll have to bring proof of said change as well. Check out the BMV’s website for a full list of acceptable documents to bring to the BMV to meet the above requirements. If your license is expired for more than six months, you’ll have to apply for a temporary permit and then successfully complete all of the required testing before a new license can be issued. Once your driver’s license is back in good standing, take a moment to make sure your car insurance policy is the cheapest it can be. Fortunately, with Jerry, this will truly take just a moment!
