Well first of all, happy birthday! To renew your driver’s license in
Minnesota
you’ll have to take a trip in-person to your local Driver’s License Office or Driver and Vehicle Services Exam Station. Here’s what the process for a standard Class D license looks like:
  • Find your nearest renewal location.
  • Complete an online pre-application to speed up the process.
  • Turn in an application at your renewal office.
  • Pay a $32 fee by check or cash only.
  • Complete a vision screening.
  • Retake your license picture.
So long as you pass the vision test and renew your license on or before the expiration date, you should be able to enjoy uninterrupted driving privileges!
If your license is close to expiring, you might as well check to make sure your
car insurance
is up to date, too. Download the
