How do you renew your driver’s license in Indiana?

How do you renew an Indiana driver’s license? I am trying really hard to do this adulting thing right, but there are just so many things to keep track of!

It may seem messy sometimes, but it sounds like you are very successfully adulting! To renew your driver’s license in
Indiana
you can visit the BMV’s website, a BMV connect Kiosk, go in person to your local BMV branch.
You can renew your Indiana license up to two years before it expires. However, you’ll have to renew your license in person if you match any of the following criteria:
  • You’ve changed your name or permanent address
  • You carry a CDL or a license with a For-Hire endorsement
  • You have six points on your driving record
  • You are 75 years or older
  • You are renewing an expired driver’s license
  • You are renewing a license that was previously renewed online.
You read that last one right—unfortunately, you’ll have to renew your license in person every other time. If your license is already expired, you’ll have to pay a fee and retake a vision test, written test, and/or a road test—depending on how long it’s been expired.
Once you’re done checking license renewal off the list, keep the adulting train rolling by making sure your
