How do you renew your driver’s license in Georgia?

My job is going back to in-person after being remote for most of the pandemic. I’ve hardly had to drive since not having to go into the office so I have to think my driver’s license is probably expired! How do I renew my Georgia driver’s license?

Well, add an expired driver’s license to the list of downsides for in-person work! Luckily, the process to renew your driver’s license in
Georgia
is easy. You have a few options to complete the process:
  • Online through the Georgia DDS website
  • By downloading the DDS 2 Go mobile app on the App Store or Google Play
  • In-person at a DDS center with your current license, a form of payment, an application form, and any other required documents
  • By mail if you meet certain criteria
You can renew your Georgia license up to 150 days before its expiration date—you can expect your new license to arrive in 45 days. If your license has been expired for more than two years you’ll have to retake the knowledge, road, and vision tests to be approved. If you’re 64 years or older you’ll have to pass a vision test every time you renew your license.
