How do you renew an expired car insurance policy online?

My Traveler’s policy is expired and I don't have auto-renew setup. Can you tell me how to renew my expired car insurance policy online?

You can renew your car insurance coverage by contacting your company directly—and expect to pay a penalty or higher premiums after a lapse in coverage.
The good news: Renewing your coverage is usually pretty easy.
The bad news: A
lapse usually leads to higher premiums
, and driving without car insurance is illegal in most states.
If you’ve let your policy expire, here’s what to do:
  • Try to renew your policy through Traveler’s online portal.
  • If that’s not possible, contact a representative directly.
  • Pay the penalty for the lapse and get your policy reinstated.
Most policies last six months to a year and then they’re up for renewal. This means you can either continue coverage with
Travelers
or shop around for
another
insurance company.
Whether you stay with Travelers or
switch
, you can expect higher premiums after a coverage lapse with any company. To find the cheapest rate for your situation, it’s worth using an
insurance comparison app
to shop around.
Good luck with your policy!
