How do you renew a driver’s license in Maine?

Is it hard to renew your driver’s license in Maine? I need a new one soon but I’m not sure what to expect from the renewal process.

You can renew your driver’s license in
Maine
in two ways: online or in person at your local BMV.
To renew in person, simply visit a BMV office near you. The agent may ask you to complete a vision test, depending on your age, and you’ll need a method of payment for the renewal fee.
To renew online, you’ll need to visit Maine’s BMV online renewal portal. It’s worth noting that you’re not eligible for online renewal if:
  • You’re over 62
  • This is your first renewal after reaching 40, or you are over 40 and did not renew in person last time
  • You need to change or update information on your license
Did you know that you can shop for
