How do you renew a driver’s license in a different state?

Is there a way for me to renew my old driver’s license while I’m out of state for college? I want my permanent residence to be my parents’ house since I won’t live here beyond the end of my college career, but I would hate to have to drive all the way home.

Absolutely! Many U.S. states now allow you to renew your
driver’s license
online, which is something you can do no matter what state you’re currently living in. Take a look at your state’s DMV website to see if this option is available to you.
Other states allow you to renew your license via mail. This can be a great option for drivers who are out of state for extended periods for school, military service, etc. To see if you’re eligible for this service, check your state’s mail-in license renewal requirements.
Unfortunately, there are a few states (like Utah) that still require in-person license renewal. If your parents reside in one of these states, you’ll need to plan a trip home to renew your license.
While you’re updating your license, it’s a good idea to update your
car insurance
, too. Finding affordable insurance as a college student can be tricky, but the
