How do you remove nail polish from a car's dashboard?

My daughter loves painting her nails and often does so in the car. Yesterday, she spilled a bunch of nail polish on the dashboard when I went over a bump—and long story short, Blue Daydream is now splashed all over my dashboard. How can I remove nail polish from the dashboard of my car?

Nail polish on the dashboard can be frustrating—but there’s an easy solution! Here’s what to do:
  • Use rubbing alcohol and apply to the affected area
  • Rub in a circular motion, noting that this might take several minutes to take effect
  • Wipe away with soapy water
If that doesn’t work, you might have to work with something stronger. Acrylic lacquer or acetone will likely work, but you should test a small, non-visible area first. That way, you can make sure not to discolor the dashboard, since that can lower the
retail value
of your car.
If you want to make sure your car is protected from more serious things than nail polish on a dashboard, you may also want to take a few moments to review your car insurance policy. To easily make sure you’re getting the best deal on the coverage you need, check out the
