How do you remove mold from leather car seats?
There was a bad odor in my car, and I just discovered mold on my leather seats. I don’t know what it’s from, but how do I get rid of the mold?

Mold is never fun, but it’s a good thing you found it. Mold can be a major health hazard if left untreated.
Fortunately, there are ways to remove it. You’ll want to make sure you have the following products:
- Cleaning gloves
- Face mask
- White vinegar
- Spray bottle
- Clean rags
- Disinfectant spray
First, it’s important to make sure you’re protected, so be sure to wear your gloves and mask. Then, using the spray bottle, apply vinegar to the area. There may be invisible mold spores, so you’re going to want to spread outside of the visibly moldy patch. Let the vinegar soak for approximately 10 to 20 minutes.
Then, use the rag to wipe the mold away. You may need to repeat the steps a few times to fully clean the mold. Finally, spray the area with a disinfectant.
Let the car air dry with the doors and windows open (you don’t want the mold to come back!). If there is a lingering odor, you may have missed some of the mold, so you may have to repeat the process a few days later.
