My neighbor's sprinklers sprayed my car this morning. It was warm out and the water spots dried in the sun, leaving marks. How do you remove hard water stains from car paint?

I hope you didn’t get a car wash recently! While it may seem impossible, hard water stains aren’t actually that difficult to remove if you have the right supplies.
The supplies you’ll need are:
  • Vinegar
  • Distilled water
  • Spray bottle
  • Wax
The first step is to give your car a good wash to remove road grime and dust. This will also work to break down the minerals that are causing the hard water stains. Be sure to do this in a cool and shaded location so you don’t create more hard water stains. Dry the car when you finish.
Step two is to mix 1 part vinegar with 1 part warm, distilled water. Pour this smelly solution into a spray bottle and apply it to the area where the stains are. Let it sit for ten minutes or so, then rinse the car again to remove the solution.
To prevent hard water stains, consider applying a layer of wax or protective finish to your paint. This can also help prevent dirt and road grime damage, so it’s a win-win!
