I’m going camping with my husband—he’s never been before! But we need to put down the seats in our car to fit everything we need. What’s the easiest way to put the seats down in my Honda Civic?

Camping is always a worthwhile weekend activity. Luckily, your Honda Civic comes equipped with foldable seats for such occasions. Follow these steps to put down the seats in your Honda Civic:
  1. Hop into your back seat.
  2. Look at the rear shelf behind your seats—you should notice a keyhole.
  3. Insert your car key. Twisting it to the left will release your passenger-side seat, and turning it to the right will release your driver-side seat.
  4. Once you turn the key, pull down on the top of the chair you unlocked until it’s flat.
  5. To put the chairs back in place, just lift up and push them into the rear shelf until you hear a click.
If you follow these steps, you should have an easy time putting down the seats in your Honda Civic. That said, you may find these instructions don’t work for your specific model. In that case, check your owner’s manual for further information.
